Owing to esoteric reading of the Lermontov’s masterpiece, we gain a result connected, however, with the Divine victory of the Demon over that which is "demonic" in him. A hidden and veiled implication is such: the culmination of that which takes place is the transformation of the Demon into the Angel of Presence. Though Lermontov gives no direct indications to it, nevertheless, such is its inner and hidden logic! The Angel who potentially indwells in the Demon and is described by the author as an independent character, becomes the culmination of all events that happen within the Demon’s essence. His appearance is the Transfiguration and the final accord of salvation of Tamara’s Soul. Hence the subject’s composition: the Angel – the highest point and a vertex of triangle – holds the lower part of the painting by his prayer just as the Glory can hold the Power within the common field of existence. Deity is neither the Power nor the Glory taken separately. It is both the Power and the Glory in unity, or triplicity because of fusing the pairs of opposites. It is then when a mysterious Third One appears…
